There are so many things in life that take our time and we really don’t have enough hours in the day. We have family, we have children to deal with, we have work to go to, we have hobbies, we want to spend more time outside. Thinking about it we have so much to do that it can be hard to have enough hours in the day to get everything done, to see things that we want to see and spend time with our family. It seems that 24 hours is just not enough time to do everything we want and need to do. We always go to bed knowing that we needed to do more in the day but just didn’t have time, we always seem to add to the ‘to do’ list and never get things of it and it can bee draining. We need to have a good work-life balance otherwise we will get worn out and we will not have time for the things that we want to do.

There are certain things that we cannot go with out, eating and sleeping. These are two things that we need to do in a day no matter when we do them. Some people are able to have cat naps and get through the day. Other people need a good few hours sleep and other people need hardly any. It all depends on who we are. We all need to eat and it takes time to prepare, it takes time to eat and it takes time to be with the family and have family time around the table. These two things in life are what we need to keep us going and to keep our strength up for the things to come. If we do not do these activities then we will not be good for anything else, we will become tired, grumpy and hungry and no one wants to see that. These are the two things that we need to look after ourselves and they are important to do every single day even if we do not feel like it.

As much as we have a list of things to do as long as our arm we need to have time to be ourselves, whether on our own or with other people. We need to have time to relax, to wind down and to spend time chilling. We need to have time to love others, share experiences together and make memories. To begin with it will be hard to get this life-work balance right but if you do it well then it will come naturally. No one wants to spend all their time working and not have time with their loved ones. As much as it is hard we need to make time in the day to spend with those people we love, those people who encourage and those people we couldn’t do without. Life is short and you can work longer but you can never get those moments back to spend with those you love. You will see over time that they will be a blessing to you and you will be a blessing to them.

Working is important too though and we need to work hard, we need to get the money we need to live and we need to have a job that we can enjoy. Working is hard and it does take up most of our time which can cause us not to have time with family. Working can put pressure on relationship, cause rifts and will cause arguments. You need to understand what the other person is doing and what their work means to them. It can be hard to work hard when you have things going on at home but you need to put that to one side and you need to focus on your work and then when you get home focus on your home life. It really is about having the right work-life balance and being wise with our time.

There will be days when we run out of time in the day but if we go to bed tired then we have done a good days work and we have done the essential things that we have needed to do. We need to eat and sleep and there is no question of that but also we need to have time with God, we need to see what He wants to teach us through His Bible. He made us and we need to bring glory to Him in everything that we do through our lives. Some days will be harder than others but we need to trust God and we need to know that He has a plan for everything that we are going to do in our lives.
