How many people around you can you honestly trust? How many people around you have broken your trust? Who do you trust? Why do you trust those people? How long are you able to trust those people? Have you trusted those people most of your life? Would you trust people that you have only just known? Have you ever tried to do the trust fall but you just haven’t been able to go through with it? Trusting people is a hard thing to do because you put your heart and feelings on the line and within seconds it could be dashed and ruined. Trust takes ages to build up but it can take seconds to be destroyed. It can be hard work and it can be sad and hurtful when it is broken, a lot of relationships are destroyed because of the lack of trust.
Everybody is human and things do go wrong, people will let us down, people won’t keep there word, people will sin, people will gossip behind our back, people will do things that they don’t mean to do. It is a hard time and people can be wrong and it takes a while for trust to develop again but we are able to move on and we are able to keep going even if it may be hard to do. In this day and age it is hard to trust anyone, we can’t trust the government, we can’t trust the politicians, we can’t trust people around us it seems, we are sinful and we are human. As much as we try and trust people around us we need to be able to trust some people such as doctors, nurses and teachers.
A lot of people have different things, also known as gods, that they trust. They trust the things around us, they trust the earthly things and things that don’t actually give them satisfaction. The worldly goods and and material things are not worth ‘trusting’ and should not be our gods. Many of us can think about the things that we trust and material things that we trust but we don’t look at the actual person that we can rely on all the time. For me it is Jesus Christ that I trust, I trust Him with my whole heart, I trust Him with my life, I trust Him with my future, I trust Him with what is going to happen in my life, I can trust Him with my families health, I can trust Him with my friends experiences, I can trust Him with my job prospects, I can trust Him to look after my health, I can trust Him with what is going to happen in my marriage and I can trust Him more than any person on this planet. I am so blessed that I have Him in my life.
As we trust people we expect them to deliver something to us, we trust them so we want them to make us happy, we trust them so they should do things for us, we trust them so they should be here with a call, we trust them so they should answer our text, we trust them so they should be available, we trust them so they should listen to us, we trust them so they shouldn’t pass things on, we trust them so they should be willing to talk, we trust them so they should reach our expectations. However, they are only human so they will let us down. There will be times when that trust will be broken, there will be times when the trust will cause hardships and that can be hard. There will be times when we will need to work through trust issues and we need to keep on going with the things that life throws at us. We can trust in Jesus and His love for us.
However, there is Jesus Christ who we can trust and we can trust Him with all the things that we have in our lives. Jesus never lets us down, Jesus listens to us, Jesus answers our prayers, Jesus make us happy, Jesus answers when we call, Jesus doesn’t pass anything on, Jesus is always willing to talk to, Jesus goes above our expectations, Jesus does more than we can think or imagine, Jesus goes above and beyond any situation that we will ever be. He will provide everything we need and we can trust Him with anything and everything that we have in our lives. Will you trust Him?
