We all want to be loved, we all want to have a partner, we all want to have a life, we all want to to feel loved, we all want to do things that we are not able to do, we all want to be able to have our cake and eat it. However, we are not able to, we are not able to have two things at once, we are not able to live two lives, we are not able to see two people, we are not able to be happy and sad, we are not able to cheat without getting caught out, we are not able to get away with things. We all live in a world where we want something that we don’t have, we want something that is not ours, we want something that belongs to someone else and we are not able to.
We cannot and should not have something that is someone else’s, that belongs to someone else. Every relationship, every marriage, every couple has issues but that does not mean that we should search something else that we are not able to have. We should not look for something else that can satisfy us, that can fill a hole because we will always be empty. The more money we have we want more, the car we have we want a better one, the children we have we always want more, the job we have we want a better one, the house we have we want a bigger one, we are not able to have the things that we do not now unless we work for it or destroy something in the meantime. We often think why we are not enough and why people do not love us for being us. However, that is the reality of life, we all want something that we are not able to have.
In marriage there are so many things that tempt us away from loving our spouse, children need our attention, social media pulls us away, the internet wants us to view things that are not good for us, families need us to attend to things, we live in a world that needs our attention and wants us to be unhappy with the things that we have and the things that we want instead. We always want something more, when we are married we want a fitter women, we want a muscled man, we want to have sex more, we want to have more children and when we don’t get that this is the time when we want our cake and eat it too.
A marriage is between one man and one women and no one else, not our parents, not our children, not our friends, not our family and it is important that we know that the marriage that we have entered is between you and your spouse, no one else. There may be more beautiful women around but there is no need to have an affair, there may be more handsome men but there is no need to have an affair. A marriage should be between two people and not others on the side. You can try it but you will be found out, your spouse will see the clues, they will see the times when you try and hide your phone, your spouse will notice when you are out late, your spouse will notice when you are off with them. Don’t have an affair, it is not worth the pain and hurt you will suffer as well as your family.
No marriage is perfect, there will be times when you want to get out, there will be times when your eyes wonder, there will be times when your eyes get turned but don’t let temptation get in the way. No matter what is going on in your life or your marriage go straight to God rather than people who can talk, you don’t know what gets out and what the gossip goes out. However, God knows what is going on and you can come to Him, you can tell Him everything that is going on, you can tell Him how you are feeling, you can tell Him what things you want to work on and He will help you. God will make your marriage work but you have to put Him in the centre of your life. God will keep you safe in your marriage, God will keep the love alive, God will love you no matter what is going on, God will keep you close to Him but all you need to do is trust in Him.
