Who or what would you saviour be if you really thought about it? The first things that come to my mind may be the fastest car, the best job, the most of amount of children, the biggest house! We look around the world and we think about the things that are good for us, we often think a better house would be better for us, we often think that the more children would make our life better, we often think that the fastest car will make us so much better and more friendly. All of these things are great but eventually the car will give up, the children will move out and eventually you will have to move house!
The ‘saviours’ that we have in this world come and go, we move on from one things to another and they do not last, nothing in this world lasts and we need to know the real saviour. We need to know what can really save us, what can really help us through life, what can really help us to be better, what can really help us to get through each and every day. The baby that came at Christmas is the One who is the saviour, He is alive today, He is the one who can make us to be better, He can help us to be loved forever. Jesus Christ came as a small baby but at the age of about 33 years of age He gave His life for us so that we can be truly saved.
Jesus shed His own blood so that we can be saved, we can be saved from our sin and shame, we can be saved from the things of this world, we can be saved from all the things that get us down. As we come up to Christmas realise that this baby that grew up as a perfect man died for you to be your saviour and to save you from the things of this world.
