Blog 183: Blogmas – Day 16 – King of Kings

Jesus, King of Kings - Hope for Afghans

We often think of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, officially Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith being the queen of all queens-just look at her offical title! She is the the longest reigning monarch as well as being the oldest reigning monarch. Do with that information as you wish but isn’t she just truly amazing. Even if you don’t believe in the royal family you have to give your hat of to her for being 94 and still being queen. If you are a true royal then she would be the best, she would have your upmost respect and it would truly be an honour to meet her. What a person! The Queen is someone that we have to respect, someone who has lived a long life and is wise and someone who cares for her people. No matter what we think of her it is good to know that she has experience and she has committed her life serving her people.

Her Majesty once said these words, ‘I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service..’ How many people do you know that will serve you for your whole life. Do you realise that she didn’t want us to serve her but instead she wanted to serve us for however long she lives? No matter how long she lived whether a short time or in her case a long time she wanted to be devoted to the peoples service and she wanted to make sure to do what is right. We must respect her for that. How many people have you told you will serve them for your whole life? As much as the Queen has promised that there will be a time when she has to do less and less as she gets older.

However, there is One who was truly here on earth to serve, not only did he serve the rich, He healed the poor, He turned water into wine, He made the blind see and He gave His life for us as a true service to His people. All we have to do is accept the death that Jesus died and know that even though the Queen is powerful she is not powerful than Jesus. The queen maybe the queen above everyone else on earth but Jesus is the One who is truly the King of kings and queens and we need to respect and acknowledge that before anything else.
