When you have a candle do you put it in the cupboard? Do you put it under the bed? Do you put a bowl on top of it? Of course not, you want it to shine bright, you want it to be the focus of the room and you want it to be lighting up what is dark. You want the light to shine bright, you want to be able to go into a cave and to be able to see, you want to look inside a cupboard and see what is in the back, we all need light to live, to grow and to develop. Just as a candle shines up the room so does Jesus Christ. He is the One that came down to this earth so that we are able to follow Him and so that we are able to put the darkness behind us and focus on the light.
If you look around you now we have so much darkness in our world, we have shootings, rape, murder, child abuse, stealing, selfish thoughts, selfish actions, bombings and so much more that it is often hard to find the light in our world. It is hard for us to focus on the things that are good in this world, to focus on the trees, to focus on the flowers, to focus on what we have and it often makes it hard because the news gives us negative things to listen and to watch! With all these things around us and flooding our social media I don’t blame you if all you notice is the darkness that surrounds us.
However, there is a light that we can all have, there is a light that can fill our hearts, there is a light that can make us happy and there is a light that can show us the way. We just need to accept Jesus into our hearts-will you do that?
