Blogmas – Day 2 – Emmanuel

Emmanuel: God with Us • St. Joseph the Worker

We have all heard of vlogmas and how people vlog their lives for the first 24 days of December and I thought why don’t I do that! These blogs will be shorter than normal but they will be my thoughts on the days leading up to Christmas and what we can concentrate on. The days leading up to Christmas can be crazy busy, we are focused on the tree, we are focused on the decorations, we are focused on buying presents, we are focused on the food and we can often forget the real reason for this season and so hopefully we will be able to learn more about Christmas and Christ coming into this world as a little baby to a virgin.

Throughout this festive season we here so many names that Jesus has and sometimes they can be confusing and we often don’t know the meanings of them. Over the next few weeks I want to be able to write the meanings of these names and to explore them more for me to learn more but also to see what we can learn from the baby that was full God and fully man who came as a baby, He was a king but was born in a stable, He was the son of God but born to a virgin, He is Emmanuel, He is God with us!

Emmanuel, God with us, this means that not only was God with us yesterday, not only today, not only tomorrow but also for the rest of your life. Jesus will be there through the hard times, Jesus will be there through the easy times, Jesus will be there through the tearful times, Jesus will be there through the happy times, Jesus will be there in in the heartbreaks, Jesus will be there through the rejoicing and Jesus will be there through every moment of every life. Be thankful today that no matter what you are going through today Jesus is with you.
