In recent events that have happened I am unable to stay silent, I am unable to let things carry on, I am unable to let this go, I am unable to be calm about this! In my heart I am so angry, I am so sad, I am so disappointed, I am mad, my heart breaks and my blood boils, how can people do this to other people? In the light of a black man being killed over an apparent counterfeit $20 bill I feel like it is right to speak out, it is right to let my voice be heard, it is time to have a peaceful protest! It seems like our life of lock down has been put on the back burner and we need to focus on loving each other no matter on the colour of their skin! We seem to accept those people who are gay, those who are children, those who have a disability, those who are mute, those who are blind, those who have different religions, those who come from different places but why can’t we seem to accept those people who are of a different colour?
Why is it that we as a society are unable to accept those people who are not the same colour as ourselves? As Covid-19 is a deadly virus so is white dominance! It seems that we still look down on those people who are black, we look down on those people who are not the same colour and this is not right, this is not something that we should be proud of, this is not something that should be normal, this is not something that we should be showing the next generation. No matter whether you are black, white, mixed race, gay, lesbian, young, old, tall, short, employed, unemployed, working, retired, baby, adult, sick, healthy, extrovert, introvert or anything else your life matters-ALL LIVES MATTER. You were born into this earth and your life matters more than anything on this earth and more than anyone else can tell you. You were born for a purpose and you were born to live your life because it matters.
I cannot believe that we live in 2020 and black people are still getting killed, I cannot believe that a man got killed by a policeman-someone who was meant to protect him, someone who was meant to uphold the law, someone who was meant to accept everyone and someone who was meant to do the right thing. I don’t care whether it was a moment of anger, whether it was a moment of stupidity or a moment of protection, no man should be killed for any reason. I would say the same thing if it was a white man, if it was a young child, if it was an elderly person, if it was anyone else I would be just as mad but a policeman against a normal citizen? Someone who is meant to show a good example to other people, who is to accept everyone as they are but they didn’t and now look at the world. There are riots, there are protests, there are more people getting hurt. As much as I don’t agree with some of the actions I agree with why they are doing it and I agree with the message that things need to change and things need to change now.
Black lives matter as well as white lives matter. It is 2020 for crying out loud as we should accept people for who they are, not because of the colour of their skin, not because of how rich they are, not because of who they hang out with, we should accept people for who they are, black, white or not. I am not saying that other lives don’t matter but in the time that we do live in black lives do matter too and we need to cry out for this. They are getting put in a box just because of the colour of their skin and quiet frankly enough is enough. No matter what society thinks black lives matter just as much as any other life and we need to appreciate them just as much as any other life. I have honestly had enough of black people being persecuted because of the colour of their skin and it is time to speak out about it.
We may not understand people, we may not understand why people are different colours, we may not understand why people do such things and we may not understand why people cannot accept each other. However, we need to know that we are sinful, we are automatically selfish and we seem to want the things that we want not what we think is right. We can come to God, we can find him and we can ask Him to forgive us for the things that we have done wrong, the things that we have said that we should not have said and so much more. All lives matter and we need to remember that God accepts us for us and not the colour of our skin or the jobs we do or the number of children we have or anything. We just need to know that more than ever we need him.
