The end of May marks the end of Skin Cancer awareness month. Skin Cancer affects a lot of people around the world and so many people are not able to get the help that they so need. Skin cancer affects so many people, families, companies, children, older people, homeless, rich, poor, happy, sad, career based, family based people. It can have a disastrous affect on so many.
Everyone knows at least one person who has been affected by Cancer. What does your body do when you hear that C word? Shiver? get angry? madness? sadness? want to switch off? what to try and do something to help? The six letter word is so hard to hear and so hard to deal with more. It affects so many people, children loose their parents from this, they can loose their siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and there at the moment is really nothing that can be done.
I remember someone very close to me got bowel cancer and when you hear that word you just want the floor to suck you up. You want to get away from it as quickly as possible and to be able to move away from it. When I was young I didn’t know what it meant but you soon get to know that people are very sick and they may even die. About every 1 in 3 people get cancer-what an horribly amazing fact!
If you know someone who has cancer the best thing to do is to make time to see them, to make sure that their last few months/ years are ones to remember but most of all make memories with them. Go to places that are fun, that they want to go to but also that you want to go to. Go through their bucket list but whatever you do make sure that you are happy to spend time with them. They are in pain and you know what they say about laughter makes the pain go away-it wont be a long term fix but it will help them to forget for a brief moment.
In all of this God knows how you feel, He knows how they feel, He can help you, He will draw near to you, He will feel your pain but in order for that to happen you need to draw near to him. You need to be able to seek him and he will seek you. Knock and you will find what God is all about. God has some amazing things planned for both you and that other person and He will only take them in His time. During the time before just let everything be fun and full of laughter.
